Ana Jovićević, MD, PhD

Ana Jovicevic is a medical doctor, specialist in epidemiology with a master’s degree and PhD in oncology. She is employed at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia, the biggest comprehensive cancer center in Serbia as a head of the department for cancer epidemiology and prevention, prevention of hospital infections and patient support.

Training: NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention (2001, USA),  International Agency for Research on Cancer Technical Transfer Award- Environmental epidemiology (2001, IARC France), Support to Education,Training and Research in Oncology – Organization of cancer screening and cancer genetic testing (2004, France), SEE Regional Training Workshop on Designing and Carrying out Anti-Smoking Media Campaigns (2007, Croatia), Gender Analysis in Tobacco Control – IDRC RITZ (2010, Canada).

As a member of national expert committees of the Ministry of Health of Serbia, she participated in the development of national programs (breast cancer screening, cervical cancer screening), strategies (tobacco control, cancer control, control of noncommunicable diseases) and guidelines (cancer prevention).

As a member of the National Expert Committee for Tobacco Control since 2003, she participated in the development of the national tobacco control strategy with action plan, changes of legislation (smoke-free law), intersectoral collaboration, campaigns, research, development of guidelines, public and professional education.

She is active in public health associations – as the secretary of the Serbian Cancer Society, and in the Association “Health Mission” as a member of the Founding Board and Management Board.
