On June 1st, 2017, Association Health Mission became a member of the Smoke Free Partnership Coalition.
The SFP Coalition is a specialised network of non-profit organisations, independent of commercial, business and industry interests. It is composed of independent organisations working together to pursue common goals in the field of tobacco control at EU and national level.
The mission of the Smoke Free Partnership is the effective implementation of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). To this end, SFP in collaboration with other EU health organisations and tobacco control networks works with decision-makers to ensure that tobacco control receives adequate political attention at EU level and to promote tobacco control information and policy research at EU and national levels. It also aims to ensure FCTC implementation globally, working to release EU funding for tobacco control to counter poverty in low and middle-income countries.
The mission of the Coalition is to promote and coordinate tobacco control advocacy on FCTC priority policy at EU level, and to support Coalition’s partners at national level through better communication and capacity-building regarding specific areas of the FCTC.
As the EU candidate country, Serbia has been invited to join this public health coalition. Association Health Mission and Serbian Society for the Fight Against Cancer recognized their common interest with the goals of the SFP Coalition and joined this active network of more than 40 organisations, comprised of national organisations which represent more than 20 European countries, as well as international associations in the field of tobacco control.
